Ocean Park partners with the innovative wellness reward programme, HSBC Life Well+, to roll out the second season of the hugely popular Ocean Park Green Staycation.
The month-long wellness series, Ocean Park x HSBC Life Well+ Green Staycation, will run from 7 November to 18 December 2021 and features Yoga Vogue, Brick Hill Secret Unveil and Starry Summit Yoga Glamping – all designed to put participants in harmony with nature as they enjoy active pursuits by the sea, in the hills or under the stars at Ocean Park.
A different take on Hong Kong’s favourite wellness activities
Lau Ming-wai, Chairman of Ocean Park, said, “We greatly appreciate the public’s support for the new initiatives at Ocean Park. As the Park evolves into a resort and leisure destination, we will be bringing an array of specially curated experiences for everyone to enjoy some chill time, and unwind both physically and mentally in new ways at Ocean Park.
“We are grateful to have the backing of HSBC Life Well+ to launch this year’s Green Staycation. Our shared goal of promoting active lifestyles and bringing great minds for wellness activities together has enabled us to give three of Hong Kong people's favourite leisure activities – yoga, hiking and camping – a new twist,” continued Lau.
Edward Moncreiffe, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Life Hong Kong, said, “COVID-19 has clearly raised Hong Kong citizens’ awareness of the importance of staying healthy. HSBC now offers HSBC Life Well+, an extremely accessible and user-friendly wellness proposition, which offers highly valuable rewards and incentives that we know people in Hong Kong need in order to take those extra steps and to make every day count. Together with the partnership with Ocean Park in support of this year’s Ocean Park x HSBC Life Well+ Green Staycation series, family and friends could participate in the wide variety of healthy-lifestyle activities and experiences to be enjoyed over the coming weeks in the pursuit of an active lifestyle and a better health outcome.”
Hong Kong’s Olympic fencer Vivian Kong Man-wai and swimmer Karen Tam Hoi-lam also shared their personal tips on wellness and exercise at the Ocean Park x HSBC Life Well+ Green Staycation launch event today.
Kong, a yoga enthusiast, was very impressed by the unusual venues and immersive environments offered by Yoga Vogue, and would like to try stretching and meditating with the company of fish and marine animals at The Grand Aquarium. Kong said she always harnesses the power of yoga and meditation practices to help find inner peace, unwind after intense training, and maintain her strength both physically and mentally.
Tam, who enjoys hiking in her free time, is looking forward to joining Brick Hill Secret Unveil to have a glimpse of the biodiversity along the Nam Long Shan trail, and visit the Hong Kong Marine Life Stranding and Education Centre for an overview of the marine life rescue work in the city.
Immerse yourself in reimagined Green Staycation
Different locations of Ocean Park such as The Grand Aquarium, Aqua City Lagoon, Old Hong Kong, Goldfish Treasures and Pacific Pier will be transformed into havens for yoga lovers. The new Yoga Vogue offers a wide selection of 13 types of yoga classes for yogis to unwind in a unique setting designed specifically to bring immense serenity and peace of mind. Participants can choose to pose, stretch and revitalise with smooth breathing exercises through Vinyasa Yoga, or flex and control balance with Wheel Yoga and SUP Yoga.
A relaxing route has also been set for Brick Hill Secret Unveil for all to enjoy. Our guides will lead hikers along an awe-inspiring vista, starting from the Park’s Summit and along the Nam Long Shan trail overlooking the South China Sea, with colourful cable cars above and the chance to encounter wildlife unique to Hong Kong.
For those looking for short getaway ideas close to the city, Starry Summit Yoga Glamping is the perfect choice. Glampers can chill at the cosy, comfy, air-conditioned private tents and then relax their bodies and souls during Vinyasa flow and Tibetan singing bowl moments at the site. Exclusive activities like Sunrise Moments, South Pole Spectacular Night Tour and Sea Lion Meet and Greet will leave glampers amazed and refreshed.
Ocean Park would like to thank this year’s Green Staycation Title Sponsor HSBC Life Well+, and Sponsors CHUMS Hong Kong and Columbia Sportswear for spicing up the participants’ experiences with their stylish outdoor and exercising gadgets.
