오션파크로 떠나는 즐거운 여행에 필요한 모든 것
Ocean Park Halloween Fest 2017, the largest Halloween event in the region, is set to test the limits of fear with an intense nail-biting experience in unparalleled horror. This year’s celebration aims to take the bloodcurdling screams up several notches with 10 haunted attractions and 11 experiences.
Headline attractions include a twisted new SAW-themed attraction, SAW presented by Blue Girl Beer, which allows guests to experience the most iconic moments from the powerhouse Lionsgate horror franchise whose eighth installment, JIGSAW, is scheduled to open in theaters on October 26, 2017. The Park will also be filled with plenty of fun and spooky Halloween surprises throughout October for guests of all ages. For the first time, two family-friendly Halloween attractions, Whiskers & Friends Halloween Party and Spooky Candy Factory, will be open to guests every day from 5 to 31 October.
Vivian Lee, Executive Director of Business Development and Education of Ocean Park, said, “As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, this year’s Halloween Fest is our largest ever, offering a unique style of thrills and chills never seen before. Now in its 17th year, this year’s show-stopping event is set to test the limits of our guests’ fear, surprising them with a full range of terror and fun, including recreated experiences from SAW, one of the top grossing horror film franchises; an eerie experience of being buried alive; haunting stories of old Hong Kong; and encounters with different types of phobias.
“We introduced the all-day-and-night format for Halloween to elevate its appeal among family guests a few years ago. To immerse our guests in more Halloween fun, we will extend the operating hours of two family-targeted Halloween attractions from Halloween days to non-Halloween days. Guests can now enjoy Halloween fun every day from 5 to 31 October,” she added.
Blockbuster Horror Franchise Brought to Life
Headlining this year’s Halloween Fest will be the movie-themed attraction where SAW will come to life at Ocean Park for the first time ever. Guests can immerse themselves in terrifying experiences recreated from the films of the blockbuster horror franchise, including the highly anticipated JIGSAW. Created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell, the SAW film series and its elaborate inventions and psychological thrills have been enjoyed by millions worldwide. JIGSAW is written by Josh Stolberg & Peter Goldfinger and directed by The Spierig Brothers.
Eva Au Yeung, Events & Entertainment Director of Ocean Park, said, “SAW is one of the best thrillers of all time. With the franchise making its long-awaited comeback this October, we are thrilled to partner with Lionsgate to build this movie-themed attraction. Guests will face their deepest fears as they endure intense experiences and survive terrifying contraptions, with the movie’s iconic tag line ‘Do you want to play a game?’ echoing in their minds.”
The Greatest Collection of Human Phobias Taking Guests’ Senses to the Limit
PHOBIA Experience, a haunting cluster of attractions introduced to this year’s Ocean Park Halloween Fest, is set to push guest tolerances to the limit. The PHOBIA Experience includes three attractions: Phobia 17 which comprises rooms each filled with different well-known phobias will take guests’ senses to the limits on a wild ride of excitement; while Dark Maze and Down to Hell presented by Kraft Heinz will offer chilling phobic challenges such as facing the fear of the dark and vertigo, a fear of heights.
The limited-capacity Phobia 17 requires reservation in advance. Guests purchasing premium tickets online, which starts from today (22 August), can enjoy the privilege of reserving a desired timeslot for visiting Phobia 17 on a first-come, first-served basis. Premium ticket holders are also entitled to a KKBOX two-month Premium Membership for free. Regular ticket holders can reserve a desired timeslot from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to enjoy the PHOBIA Experience on the spot via the eScheduler on the Ocean Park mobile app from 1 p.m. onwards on the selected Halloween dates from 5 to 15 October on a first-come, first-served basis.
A Whole New Dimension of Terror
Halloween Fest 2017 brings to life spooky stories in its quest to scare guests witless. Reliving nostalgic memories of the past for Hong Kong people, Kowloon Ghost City, a legendary city of sin, will rise from the dead with undead gangs and violent criminals longing to catch new victims. In this lawless slum, guests can pry into old Hong Kong’s little-known side and experience the city’s dark history. Only available after sunset, Rise of the Ancient Evil features an army of Chinese vampires ready to feast on guests in the dark forest on the hill.
Light-hearted Halloween Surprises for Guests of All Ages
Besides the haunted attractions, guests with families also have plenty of Halloween surprises to enjoy at Ocean Park Halloween Fest. This year’s transforming attraction is Festival of Souls (Day) / Night of the Dead (Night) presented by Yahoo! Hong Kong, which takes reference from the festive ambience of Mexico’s famous traditional celebration Day of the Dead. During daytime, UV-costumed spirits will invite guests to party with them at Festival of Souls. Guests are invited to put on 3D glasses to check out the attraction’s colourful ghost and skull patterns in Latin American style for a unique Halloween experience. At night, the happy spirits from Festival of Souls will turn into enraged spirits hell bent on haunting guests in Night of the Dead.
The Whiskers & Friends Halloween Party, which takes place at Whiskers Harbour, will see a new squad of mascots. Whiskers and his six friends, dressed up in Halloween costumes, will be making their rather cute debuts. Guests should not miss the chance to take photos with all seven mascots, who will show up in a group only at Halloween Fest. Kids can also unleash their creativity at a fun-filled mask-making workshop, designing and painting their own masks. Spooky Candy Factory, the largest outdoor trick-or-treat experience in Hong Kong, provides a colourful backdrop for selfies and photos as well as for mini games where young guests will hunt for Chupa Chups, Mentos and Tim Tam chocolate biscuits. To extend the fun of Halloween, the Whiskers & Friends Halloween Party and Spooky Candy Factory will be available for guests every day throughout the month from 5 October.
The headlining spooky show this year, Hell’s Grand Finale, will feature a series of eye-popping shows and breath-taking performances, and Scare Zone – Alley of the Dead, will be back again this year to bring surprise scares to guests.
Corporate chartered events for Ocean Park Halloween Fest 2017 will begin in mid-September. The general public can experience the attractions and shows at Halloween Fest on 16 selected dates from 5 to 31 October, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. This year, ‘Peak Days’ will be introduced to Halloween. Guests will need Halloween Fest tickets to enter haunted attractions and watch Hell’s Grand Finale on 21, 22, 28 and 29 October. Tickets valid from 5 to 31 October are available for sale on the Ocean Park website starting today and guests can enjoy 5% discount for purchasing tickets online.
Vivian Lee said, “Each year, our guests tend to visit us on or during the days leading up to the actual day of Halloween – 31 October. This year, to ensure a better guest experience, we encourage our guests to visit the Park earlier on less busy days during the month of Halloween. On these non-peak Halloween days, apart from haunted houses, guests can have a taste of the PHOBIA Experience by making reservations once they are in the Park through the eScheduler function on the Ocean Park mobile app. We highly recommend that everyone comes to the Park earlier to enjoy Halloween to the fullest.”
