Whiskers Village - We Wild Adventure Day Camp

As the pandemic recedes, it is time to let the energetic children out for “discharging”. Let’s go on an adventure, and get closer to nature! Ocean Park’s Whiskers Village is proud to present our brand-new We Wild Adventure Day Camp, where families can march out of the park with the guidance of villagers, and go on an outdoor treasure hunt at YMCA Lamma Island Outdoor Centre. You can build your DIY raft, and cook chicken over the campfire you started. These exciting and adventurous activities that can unleash the potential of children, help them learn about wildlife, and acquire basic human survival skills! You can enjoy nature with your family, learn to appreciate each other, and create valuable memories together!

Programme Content

Five Highlights of Whiskers Village-We Wild Adventure Day Camp:

WEWA Dance
You shouldn’t miss the opportunity of learning the iconic “WE WA Dance” from villagers while joining the Whiskers Village. Its energetic beat is super fun for singing and dancing, and perfect for getting warmed up for the following adventures!
DIY Rafting
Crossing the lake on a DIY raft built with ropes, bamboo, and tires. Through the crafting experience, children can gain confidence and resilience, while strengthening parent-child cooperation, as well as mutual appreciation and learning!
Campfire Chicken Cooking
Families will prepare their meals with wildlife materials, drill wood to make a fire and grill their own chicken. Family can enjoy the food together and learn more basic human survival skills.
Outdoor Eco-Treasure Hunt
During the 30-to-45-minute guided tour, you will be observing the wildlife, and getting to know how animals survive in the wild. Children can learn the skill of using a map and compass, hiding treasure and creating a map. After that, it’s time for parents to retrieve the treasure!
Family Fun Time
Family fun time includes games designed for family, including stilts and long board walk. All families will gather to share their feelings and experience about the camp activities.

Participant age	Aged 8 or above *Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying parent/guardian
Time	12:45pm – 08:30pm (Gathering time: 12:30pm)
Capacity	4 persons per group, maximum 10 group per session (The minimum number of participant would be 6 groups per session)
Location	YMCA Lamma Island Outdoor Centre (Sok Kwu Wan, Lamma Island)
Gathering and Dismissal location	Gather at Ap Lei Chau Kai To Pier (located near MTR Lei Tung Station Exit A, walk along Ap Lei Chau Main Street to Yuet Hoi Street), take boat to Outdoor Centre. Dismiss at Ap Lei Chau Kai To Pier.
Language	Cantonese
Remarks	All participants are recommended to wear causal out-fit and bring daily necessities, e.g. water, snack, hat/cap, sunscreen lotion, umbrella and mosquito repellent. There will be water activities in the programme, please wear shoes that can protect the toes and heels and clothes for change. All participant must wear safety gear during the activity as instructed by the staff. Programme fee includes dinner on the programme day. Should the participant have any food allergy, special medical condition or require special attention, please state on the application form. We will be doing all sorts of activities outdoor. Please come prepared to get dirty and participants are recommended bring spare clothes. If the weather turns bad, the content of the programme may be subject to change (including changing to indoor activities) without prior notice.

Programme fee includes a 35%off discount coupon for the Ocean Park "Explorer R" Experience Hub. One coupon can be used to purchase up to 4 Experience Hub tickets at a time. Please refer to the regulations on the coupon for details. * The enrolment is on a 4-person basis. The pricing is the same for both adults and children. Participant group with fewer than 4 persons has to pay for 4-person full price.

Notes:

All applications will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Enrolment deadline: 7 days before the commencement of each programme.
Enrolment will be postponed for 1 day if the following circumstances occur at 12:00nn:
- Tropical Cyclone Signal Number 8 or above is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory;
- Black Rainstorm Warning is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.
Participants will receive a confirmation email once the payment has been received. Please pay attention to the spam or junk mailboxes of your email account.
The selected programme code, date, time, participant’s name and email address cannot be changed or rescheduled. All payments made are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Please make sure the programme dates fit in the participant’s schedule before enrolment.
The content of the programme may be subject to change without prior notice.
Participant absence due to any circumstances is considered as a “no show”, no rescheduling or other arrangements will be provided. Please be punctual, late-comers will not be entertained.
