Ocean Park Halloween BashMania Hits the Streets of Hong Kong

2007-09-19

(Hong Kong – 16th September 2007) All hell broke lose on the streets of Hong Kong today as a troupe of ghostly characters stormed World Trade Centre in Causeway Bay to give people their first taste of Ocean Park Halloween Bash 2007, the biggest, scariest, themed party of the year. The bustling outdoor courtyard at the World Trade Centre was transformed into a spooky open air playground for the cast of freaks and ghosts, who spooked the socks off innocent passersby before luring them onstage for a ghostly massage demonstration. Vivian Lee, Marketing Director of Ocean Park, and Karen Oei, Senior Vice President of Operations of funmobile were also present for the award ceremony for the funmobile‧Ocean Park Mobile Game Design Competition.

“We now have just under a fortnight to go till Ocean Park Halloween Bash kicks off, and preparations are in full gear at the park,” says Vivian Lee. “Tickets are selling fast since they went on sale in the beginning of the month, and everyone at the park, including all our staff and over 250 ghosts, are getting super excited and we’re ready to receive our guests at the biggest Halloween party in the world!”

In early June, Ocean Park teamed up with leading mobile content distribution and online entertainment services provider funmobile, to launch the funmobile‧Ocean Park Mobile Game Design Competition, which invited participants to submit mobile game proposals featuring the characters of Ocean Park Halloween Bash . The winning concept will be incorporated in the all-new Scary Halloween Bash mobile game, which will be launched through local telecommunication operators in late September.

“It’s fantastic to see that so many people have taken up the challenge,” said Karen Oei of funmobile. “We received many impressive entries from different sectors including students, multimedia specialists and graphic designers, all of whom exhibited outstanding creativity in mobile game design. The winners demonstrate that more and more young people are making significant contributions to the mobile entertainment world and we hope that by uncovering their talents, we can further enhance Hong Kong’s creative industries.”

Starting 28 September, the seventh annual Ocean Park Halloween Bash will take place every Friday, Saturday and Public Holiday, and also on 18 and 31 October. With more than 250 ghosts, zombies, and dancing corpses running amok, seven all-new haunted attractions, 10 stage shows with 40 daily performances, and 40 Halloween attractions in addition to the Park’s regular offerings, Ocean Park Halloween Bash is raising the bar to unprecedented heights in terms of thrills, scares, production scale, and value for money.

For the first time ever, curious guests can go on Behind-the-Scenes Tours at two haunted attractions, Dementia and The Last Stop, for a glimpse into the fascinating world of special effects, animatronics, and costume creation of a blockbuster Halloween party. Lasting from 5:30pm to 12 midnight, Ocean Park Halloween Bash can be experienced through a variety of ticket types and admission packages such as the Privilege Dinner Combo*, which includes Scary Dinner at Captain’s Table or Bayview Restaurant, and unlimited fast-track access to all haunted attractions.

Admission tickets* are now available at Ocean Park’s entrances, at 7-Eleven stores in MTR stations, along KCRC Ma On Shan Rail, East Rail, and West Rail Stations, and online at www.halloweenbash.com.hk. * For details on ticket types, admission packages, haunted attractions and opening hours of , please refer to the attached Fact Sheet, or visit www.halloweenbash.com.hk.
